| Nobody should be coerced to vote this or that way. We need laws that guarantee private property. Personally I have sent the guys who rioted and feasted on my sheep to Raila/ Ruto to give them jobs after they came begging to be taken back. Of course that may not be progessive but certaily makes money sense. Talk of biting the hand that feeds you!

| If we can take a leaf from the united states constitution and given that ethnic clashes are still going on,maybe it is about time we enshrined the right to bear arms and a well regulated militia to defend our rights.

| Raiders kill man in night attack The MP asked the Government to arrest those involved in the killings. Causing trouble “When we are trying to preach peace, there are those who want to continue causing trouble. And if they only want anarchy, we will also be forced to defend ourselves,” said Mr Kiuna.Again I hope I'll be proven wrong but at one point this thing got to be let to die a natural death.communities must understand the price of war before we can have peace!

| In discussions of post-election violence, many Kalenjins argue that it is a product of longstanding anger over land distribution following independence. They argue that land was alienated by the colonial government and then unfairly parcelled out to Kikuyus and other groups whom they view as outsiders. Many Kalenjins believe that issues relating to land were the reason for both the preelectoral violence in the 1990s and the post election violence after the December 2007 elections8. Others, including the Akiwumi Report dismiss this explanation pointing out that individuals from different groups lived side by side for many years until the advent of multi party democracy when violence was used to kill and displace opposition party voters to keep them from voting. Hence, the Report argues that even though the promise of getting land from those who were displaced was used to entice youth into violence, the desire for political power and not land hunger was the causal factor.EXCERPTS FROM WAKI REPORT.

| Lakini kuna kitu moja hamjasema! Why do a few individuals in Kenya have massive pieces of land? Kwa sababu wakenya tuko wengi sana, it's high time they introduced a cap on how much land someone can own. Secondly, investigate ALL PIECES OF LAND dished out during Kenyatta regime. This is the source of land problems in RV. Uhuru Kenyatta needs to come clean. Added to that list are people like Moi, Kenyatta, Nyachae, Saitoti.. Without solving the land problem, tutaimba juu ya IDPs mpaka for many many years bila any solution.

| The origins of land disputesLand conflicts between the two communities stem from the perception that the Kalenjin, who regard the province as their ancestral home, had part of their land given to the Kikuyu, who are regarded as an immigrant community. This perception was strengthened by a belief that the government of President Kenyatta helped Kikuyus to buy land at throw-away prices in the heartland of the Kalenjin community. However, research being carried out by the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy, an NGO based in Eldoret, indicates that this is just one of the many myths surrounding land ownership in Rift Valley. In its report titled “Demystifying Historical Injustices Around Land,” the NGO examines the nature and history of land conflicts in Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia and Nandi districts in the North Rift which were hardest hit by the violence. In its findings on Uasin Gishu and Nandi districts, the NGO found that the Kenyatta administration played a marginal role in helping the Kikuyu acquire land in the region. “This is a common misconception often used by Kalenjins to justify attacks on Kikuyus: That the land Kikuyus occupy in Rift Valley was given to them free by Kenyatta’s government,” said the NGO’s executive director, Mr Ken Wafula. In his view, research involving members of both communities indicate that more than 80 per cent of the land in the two districts was in the hands of the Kalenjin at independence, with the other 20 per cent being Government Trust Land. thorny issues key to lasting peace

| Reconciliation Instead, the truth and confession would be used to achieve healing, justice and national reconciliation. “Nobody should fear. Our mandate is to find the truth, not to nail anybody. We want to cultivate an atmosphere where every Kenyan feels proud to pour out the truth about past injustices. We want to use the truth obtained to promote justice and reconciliation among Kenyans,” said Mr Kiplagat. Speaking on telephone from Eldoret a day after he was appointed by President Kibaki to chair the TJRC, Mr Kiplagat exuded confidence that his team was well equipped to delve into the most complex of historical injustices going back to independence. “We have experts in all areas so that whatever evidence we will get is subjected to a thorough analysis, we want to come up with a report which is credible and can stand any test,” he said. Mr Kiplagat spoke as civil society groups in Nairobi demanded that in addition to forgiveness and amnesty for offenders, the TJRC also consider compensation for victims. Appointment of the TJRC was not, however, universally welcomed. Speaking in Mombasa, former MPs Paul Muite, G.G. Kariuki and Koigi wa Wamwere said the team was meant to clear prominent people of the ills they had committed. Mr Muite accused the government of being “trigger happy” in forming commissions whose recommendations were never used. The Kiplagat commission is an attempt to bathe those driping with blood of murder victims. Mr . Kiplagat has been in the goverment for a long time when the injustices were being committed. he did not raise a voice then, he ia a peer of the bigwigs. He is most unqualified for that position which requires neutrality. How do you talk of forgiveness without compensation? How do i forgive a thief who is still benefiting from the milk of my stolen cow? give us a break! go and confess at the Hague

| Kipagats past involvement in goverment disqualifies him from the position he took. He should be ashamed to have sworn in for a job he clealy cannot do. Mutula Kilonzo made this clear to him, meantime Ocampo should expedite the warrants of arrest.
