Well, thats what usually happens when a country f--k up. No choise at the moment.
If the US was to f--k up americans would run over the border to Mexico and Cananda and human beings outside the US would react.

At this moment I would not go on crying about ”coloinalism”, ”evil” foreign forces, crazy diaspora or blaming others for the problems. That can be done once Kenya is up and running again.

Question.

1. Who is supporting an illegal regime in Pakistan?

2. Which country is sitting on billions of dollars looted from Africa by dictators? Does this country have any moral authority to issue travel decrees to Kenya?

3. Who financed Rwanda genocide?? Who armed the Hutu militia? Is it not France? Do they have a face to even pretend to know what democracy is all about????? Mad

4.France had their elections last year, which was disputed. Thousand of cars were burned by mobs in paris. What was international community response?? Did Kenya threaten to issue travel advisories to paris

5.Who is financing the war in Darfur, eastern Congo,Sierra Leone etc. I guess it is the illegimate regime in Kenya

6.Mexico did their elections last year yet there is no functional government today.Has Bush sent Rice, where is the international community??

7.EU had a referendum last year where the average voter turnout was a mere 20%.Yet they claim to be experts in international electoral standards Mad

8.Whites own 90% of land in South Africa. All the minerals are in the hands of the whites. 90% of the economy is controlled by whites, who are only 8.9% of the population.Yet this country which is led by a small ape like man can pretend to lecture Kenya on its social problems and equity. How ironical if not hyocritical Mad

9. Why did not the international community react strongly against the ethnic genocide in Darfur - five years ago!?!? Mad

Agree Mad

The world is full of sh-t, a--holes and contradictions but it does not justify any other sh-t, a--holes and contradictions.

It seems that even the biggest hypocrites have some kind of moral sometimes. Maybe they have learnt from earlier mistakes. Maybe them foreigners did not want another Rwanda - on their conscience.

Or is it like you are trying to say that they just want their military bases in East Africa to be safe and a good place to go for safari? Hope they are not that cynical.

What is your advise or solution to the problems in Kenya?
That the rest of the world should shut up and hope that Kenya will sort out the problems by themself? If so, how?

Very True MM
Whoever pays the piper calls the tune. Their activities have probably less to do with the welfare of the Kenyans than safeguarding their strategic interests.

Unfortunately, we are to blame because we fail to clean our own house and give them an excuse for intervening. In Kikuyu, there is a saying that a drowning person holds on to the reeds. That iis all s/he has. Right now, Kenyans are drowning, and the immediate task is to get to dry land.

Unfortunately, teh western concept of peacemaking has naver succeded anywhere in the world because to them, peace-making is an event rather than a process. Wont it be beautiful to have Condi shaking hands with Kibaki and Raila, saving the primitive tribes of Kenya from killing each other? That is why there is a push for a quick fix which will only dress the wound rather than treat it

You need to look at the problems in Kosovo and East Timor to understand how just how awry quick fix can go. There is only one solution in Kenya right now. Hold another election and bar all the top people in PNU and ODM from contesting. For the sake national unity, Kikuyu, Luo or Kalenjin candidates should not contest. But that is a long shot.

true. the powers that be are lethal powers. its not what they say and shout hoarse on TV that counts. its what they dont say and speak silently in western capital boardrooms that counts.

we only see the results of their actions. we never hear the HOARSE ANGER of their plans or political stands. leave that to Kenyan politicians.

u see even our politicians are faking us into a tranze. we are told that "the west is an enemy and east is a friend". does not china have same interests (of exploitation) like uk/usa?

we are also told by lying politicians that we are sovereign and should not take dictation from the foreign powers. BUT!!! our politicians send all their kids to schools abroad, keep all their monies in western banks, shop in western capitals, drive in western cars, have western consumer taste, acquire western visas, have western education/degrees and deal with western (not african) business in mega deals-legal/illegal.

this is too confusing. the mwananchi is being conned. MATIBA has put it right.

the deal is good for foreign powers (the masters), the politicians (playing the game on behalf of the masters) and the neighbours (part of the regional masters). for the citizens, whatever good coming out will not have been intended but privilege.

kenya is broken. foreign masters and local neo-cons are fixing their pieces to ensure they keep the exploitation. the citizen pieces remain, untouched. we are promised but wait for katiba discussions, politicians will swindle us again and again.

Q- have u heard of any big-politician (most of them own huge land in RV) farm has been disposed?

weep for kenya citizens. conned by tribal politicians. again and again. with no shame!

Quite democratic, deny people, based on their ethnicity, the right to participate fully (be elected). My question to you, would they be denied the right to vote too?

Nobody talked about denying people to vote.

But I would like to make one thing clear; the word "democracy" is only a platitude if it will lead to the extermination of potential subjects. A thief also have a right to exercise his/her democratic right of doing what he know best, and a killer has the right to kill, etc. But when the rights of some individuals stand in teh way of common good, then it has to be suspended so that the majority live in peace.

Sometimes, sacrifices have to be made in order to prepare the ground for a flourishing democracy. Right now, some people have become the strumbling blocks and for a democratic societyu and they need to be prevailed upon to pave way for the sake of national healing and a meaningful discourse on Kenya's future.

Looks like Kibaki will have to share the government. I don;t think he has very many options especially with that idea being pushed by US, EU, UK and UN security council.

Next, all those reponsible for violence need to be prosecuted. Watch this space..

Wetangula, quit invoking a constitution that has left us in this mess. Soften your tone and work towards peace alongside a majority of EKnyans.
