Guys, please guys!!!! You have all been there am sure. You swore and took an oath, that all that happens there in those many days shall remain a secret only known to yourselves and your comrades. I believe that oath is still relevant today. Personally i will maintain fidelity to it, will not betray a single concept. However, if you so wish, proceed.Lets our consciences be our judges.

Paka Mwitu and Courier I feel you. Yes, we were exhorted to keep the secret. However, my reason for not telling has nothing to do with allegiance to the pact. I do not want to engage in the lurid details and the obscenities connected with the whole practice.
I also feel that with the current dynamics where kids as young as two days are undergoing the cut, the ritual element is no longer practical and is fast fading. Seems we belong to a generation that ios becoming an endangered species.

Now what is so "secret" and "taboo" about some kind of "scar"? I don't see how my ignorance is of any use to society. Just tell me the big secret and it'll make us all better people.

Even if it is explained to you, you will still not understand. There are some things about women that men should not bother to know, unless they are doctors, and there are some things about men that women shoul dnot bother knowing.

But i should know... what if I marry a man with a mark that meant "outcast" or something? Or maybe that he has some kind of disease that has no cure but can be passed on to the next generations? I should know. But why are they even "designed"? What is there to understand about cutting a piece of skin? Its no deal, is it? oh you can know about women if you're interested - there's nothing to hide.
