This is new to me , that if you are too good, you are killing the sport.

IAAF is not happy that Kenya and Ethiopia have dominated cross country such that there is advertisers and sponsors are no longer interested in sponsoring the sport. The reason the best that non East Africans can hope for is the 13th place sounds dubious to me.

Perhaps they should employ the same standards to
1. Basketball where US dominates
2. 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m, 4x400m where US and Jamaica dominate
3. Golf wher US dominates
Swimming, tennis, bowling, baseball etc...

This is another case of covert racism.
