I say: well done Diarra! I admire that spirit. I know many team managers are busy plotting to have the African players in their team "injured" in time for the African Nations Cup early next year so they may secure their services for the clubs.
I have a feeling that come that day, Diarra will probably yield to pressure from his emplyer-his club. Mark you he has a contract with Real Madrid, not his national side. I do not think it is his will here. what is annoying is that he might just not be on the starting line up, or worse, he might not even play.

From that BBC article, it seems like Diarra is highly rated and if he doesn't make it for the Mali match, Capello might field him for that do or die match for Real. But I liked his patriotism. Look at it this way, the allowance the Malian football authorities are likely to pay Diarra are so insignificant to what he gets probably for his transport allowance at Real yet he chose country over club. Heko!
And I predict Real will draw with Mallorca this week-end and Barcelona will beat Gimnastic to clinch this season's Primera Liga title. That's just my prediction.
