Kasuve is saying that Kenya stands to lose a lot if the current impasse is not sorted out. No international transfer certificates for our footballers, no tickets for the 2010 World cup in SA, no qualification money there etc.

But we all know that the problems will resurface and it will be business as usual to the KFF barons.

Much as we sympathise with our footballers, should we remove the parient from the hospital without full recovery?

this is a tricky one sajini.
i sincerely dont think that Kasuve will bring sanity back to our football.neither will Kamanda because that will drag politics in it.

i think a committee of prominent Kenyans should be formed to oversee the operations and admin stuff. say someone like this grey haired guy bethwell kiplagat, Kiboro, we borrow some two guys from riadha house and no politicians . then
we get kina tergat to run KFF. ie some sportsmen of integrity.may be then we can have some sanity

I can't agree more. Unless the vicious circle is broken, we will be on the same spot forever. Some professionalism needs to be pumped into Kenyan football management. This can only come from persons of integrity. And we have enough of them in the sporting arena.

KFF, Kentucky Fried Fish

Always thought it is so sad that Kenya does not play football on the international level.
And it is only been an issue of the organisation behind it because of course the players are there. I am sure Kenya could become a great football nation!

If KFF were to be run like a charity organisation where the management and the secretariat volunteer to work, then we would be playing in the international Arena......but now there is some money involved there and thats why i fear it might take us even longer to reward our football players like we are supposed to.

Yep, with money comes the rats, apparently.
Maybe time to start a new football nini, volunteer version.
Man I would be happy to put my time on that!
But one should watch out, even the most democratic and super volunteer organisations turn in the milk cows one day and the survival of the money making, getting aid etc become more important than the original purpose of the NGO...

we got the greenlight lastnight papa daad and yes i agree with you that all these guys use KFF as a stepping stone to politics, the only guy i am yet to see in politics is one kariuki of cocacola.until we have people with football at heart, bado tutavuta mkia.I dont know how practical it is but other countries have used former national players to move the game up,look at people like Mitchell Platinni,Pele e,t,c.I dont know whether we have such leadership qualities in our former players.

I say it again,

Its a long discussion but I think it is one of the problem with humans, that even the most dedicated people with great visions become egocentric along the way.
I have met quite a few students fighting for democracy in Kenya, during Moi and after, forming NGOs arond their visions, fighting for their rights, achiving quite a lot, but finally they are found around the aid-orgainistations dinner table, with big bellies holding out thier hands for more cash to cover for the lifestyle they have developed as leaders in their NGO.

In other words, it seem to be easy, even for the purest minds, to forget about thier visions and ideals.

At least when the ideology or political work is not on a volunteer basis.

Like the union, in my country of origin. The have fought a lot and achived a lot for many. Now the program of the union is in the book of law.
Isn't it time to close the shop then?
No, now they sell insurances and play on the stock market - and drive much bigger cars than their members.

Guess its human, it all comes down to your self and your own good, one day, unfortunately, in some perspectives.

Now that we are back and have like a week to prepare against Swaziland, I wish Harambee Stars all the best. It seems like with this short time some players will go from JKIA to Kasarani straight!

I also wish Harambee stars the best. We lost cricket to the Kiwis today, but we should win cross country on Saturday. If Harambee stars win, it will be a happy day for Kenya.
