Papa Daad,
I agree with you. I still remember Fabisch with fond memories. Whne the old gurds were defeated in 1996, he came up with a young team of young, untested but talented boys. These guys gave the Nigerians a real scare. Excluding internationals, will not only infuse a breath of fresh air, but it will also promote local talents, and save KFF a lot of money as well.

Sajini, i read Musa Otieno's Story in Yesterdays Daily Nation and i was so angry, ashamed that KFF is an Institution in Kenya. He talked about how they travelled to Cape Verde with a packet of crisps and a soda and rode on the back of a pick up to the stadium while the person(KFF Official) who was leading the team to Cape Verde was having fun In london!pooh.
Not so long ago,the National Volleyball Team staged a go slow to claim their deserved allowances which the Patron/chairman put it very clearly on TV that they wont get it and that they would be dropped off the team if they went on with the go slow. The Ladies stayed put. Eventually they got paid and guess who was top on the list? the Chairman himself!!!!(who is a civil servant by the way and yes he got the highest amount)
I think Football affairs should be left to those who have been in the proffession. those who have passion of the game.those who have the interests of Kenyan Football at heart;they know where the shoe hurts most.Guys like Musa,Kipchoge,Lorupe,Keino should head this KFF.they are sportsmen and women and the last three have so much money to want to mess up with KFF funds! at least there is some good work going on at Riadha house compared to the KFF secretariat just less than 400m away!!!

I always wonder why?

Can understand your point of view.
Football is a sport which (should) is used mostly by feet and not like American football where the hands are used more.
The "American Football" should be changed to "American Handball"

American football is a derivative of rugby "football", and while the feet are used more often in rugby than on the gridiron, much of the game is still played by handling the ball. Both variations are still considered football.

Kihia,
I hear you! It is so annoying you want to run there and give these guys a piece of your mind. That volleyball saga was so embarassing and upseting at the same time. Then comes the following recent reports about MacDonald Mariga:

"Bolton Wanderers have joined fellow English Premier League club Portsmouth in the hunt for Harambee Stars midfielder MacDonald Mariga.
Described by British newspaper Sunday Mirror as the "new Patrick Vieira", Mariga's hopes of becoming the first Kenyan to play in the popular English Premier League may, however, be shattered by the negative publicity the country's football has abroad. The Sunday Mirror states that a player coming from a country ranked 128th in the world by International Soccer Federation, Fifa will have little to offer in the Premiership"

What a big shame!

I think Kamanda should disband KFF for goods, then begin fresh negotiations with FIFA in the way forward. Only when the current players in the KFF administration are out of the picture can sanity return. There are so many vested interest amongst the official for anything meaningful to happen. The continued bickering amongs these guys is holding the future of local talents at ransom.

If the government disbands KFF, it must come up with a policy paper regarding soccer administrationin the contry. While keeping in tune with FIFA statutes, but it must be made very clear that the current officials will not be involved in the formulation of the new policy. They have already embarrased us enough.

But remember part of the reasons Kenya was recently banned by FIFA was what was termed as "government interference in KFF" so it has to be prudent on the part of the govt to come up with the most practical way of doing that. But I totally agree this KFF should have been banned the same day they were formed.

My Godness are you still playing football?

I bought a football yesterday by the way. A Ronaldinho football. Very good. Hope I remember how to kick. Prefer to do it barefoot. Have a nice grass court in the chags. Looking forward. Play for fun. No politics and no money involved.

Seriously, Harambee stars do not deserve to go to Ghana. If they do, KFF will never reform. We need to first learn from the mistakes, understand that success does not come on a silver platter, and work towards improving the standards of the game. Qualification of Harambee stars is promoting mediocrity
