| EPA= Economic Partnership Agreement= modern day colonialism. After collapsing the WTO Europe now wants to sign EPAs with individual african contries and is tauting them as the panecea if Africa's economic woes. Africa to open up her markets for European goods in exchange of economic aid (AIDS?) in a nutshell Africa should export raw materials to Europe and buy finished product. Eg export raw rubber and import Dunlop automotive tires or Export cofee beans imports Nescafe etc. How is that for an economicic arragement? It is time for Africa to face east. |

| Kumbe! That is unacceptable! But I am sure there are fat cats who are reading opportunities here. It is similar to running down our sugar industry so that they can import cheap sugar from COMESA or Brazil to the detriment of folks in the sugar belt. My only question is, will these greedy hyenas who can sell their own mother for 30 pieces of silver pay attention? How can we stop them?

| Sajini, You are absolutely right ..... as we speak the Budget has been read and it contains nothing for the common man ..... your question on how to stop the hyenas who are eating us alive ..... my brother the answers you will get on Nairobi streets or the fields that I know well .... will not shock you as barbaric as some of them are. wa Mathira

| The EC has renewed pressure 'Brussels has expressed its desire to have urgent discussions with Kenya, they want a meeting as soon as posible so that these matters can be sorted out' Brussels is increasingly frustrated and is now keen to push for action through Kenya which has higher stakes. PS for Trade Cyruss Njiru down plays the ultimatum thus' the deadline is not cast in stone we will sign when we are ready to. We are committed to signing even though like any negotiation process the overinding factor is consesus' I pray to ask it EPA's are good for us why are we being pressuired to sign?

| Muhuthia, Do you think protectionism can work in a global ecomonic order?

| Sajini Fair competition is the word not protectionism. EPA is about develloped contries exploiting undeveloped economies. In the family of nations what are the chances of a six year lad competing for food with his elder brother who is 25. That is why the G8 collapsed the WTO so they can deal with hapless Africa economies individually.
