(For those who do not yet know what Wikipedia is, Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia which has millions of articles and can be edited by anyone at any time at any location.
All the contributors do not need to pay money to edit the pages; neither are they paid for editing articles.

Wikipedia currently exists in 253 different language editions which also includes the Gikuyu language edition. However, the interface on Gikuyu Wikipedia needs to be translated from English to Gikuyu so that is why I need your help).

Contact Professor John Mugane at Harvard. He is a Gikuyu linguist who can give you all that and more.

Phone: 617.496.6196
Email: mugane@fas.harvard.edu

Also, nice to see that you are calling it Gikuyu Wikipedia and not 'Kikuyu Wikipedia'.

Wa Mugwanja,
Do you mean that Mugane has the name of these words? I doubt. Unless he already has a template, I do not think it would be wise to get all these words from a signle source.

Lets face it, computer technology and terminologies are English, so the majority of computer literate people are also well versed in English. The kikuyu computer vocabulary should not try to be too ambitious to an extent that it becomes tedious and innaplicable, fortcing peopel to revert to English. Unless something is very obvious (i.e. one to one translation works) then I guess we should look at English and Swahili for inspiration.

And Nyumba, who said we cannot be trendsetters? Suggesting names and trying to agree on them. Maybe 'Boss' can set templates for voting on the most naturally soounding names for most of these words.
