The relationship is a young one. Madly in love. The usual.
But there is a problem; one of them is not a Christian. And the other is a believer. In church, we are advised to associate ourselves more with believers to help us grow in Christ.
Should this relationship continue?
(I do not think God would be happy with this).

Its up to you if you want to compromise your faith.

NO! I do not, I would not compromise my faith, my God (my refuge my strength) for the sake of keeping a relationship that I am positive will not work if God is not put first.

How can you even say that?
Dissapointing. What is that verse again?

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

I love my God and for Him I am willing to lose everything in this world. For I am not of the world.

Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." (Mark 8:34-38)

I watched a movie, "DESPERATION". A Stephen King's movie.
A family on vacation, a writer on a journey, a couple in love, and a lonley hitchiker find themselves all to be brought the small town of Desperation, where a crazy cop, possessed by an ancient evil has savagely murdered the entire town in 2 days time. Now the hopes of these wayward souls rest in the hands of the family's young boy David, who possess a strange religiuos power that might be enough to fight of the evil in Desperation
At first I was thinking,"why would i want to watch a horror movie to corrupt my faith?" But I did. (I knew I wouldnt be able to sleep for a couple of days after that but I sat down-it was midnight). I never thought I'd ever say anything positive about Stephen's movies/novels but for this one,I can't say the same.
I was inspired by this little boy (David)'s strong faith in God. And the strength he still had even after the death of his little sister, mother and father.
...well,story ends well. Of course, with God it always ends well.
I think God had touched Stephen King's heart this time. You should watch this movie and it's kind of recent too(2006).

Lose the relationship, keep God.

Wakanyugi, when you're blinded by this love for this "non-believer", you even forget about the fishing. It happens.
So,it is better to do that when you're just friends.

Maria,God would not be happy with anyone running away from the non-believer.God loves us all believers or not.The thing is,the believers have a special relationship with God therefore experiencing life in a different way.A very happy way.

I have friends who are non- believers. My hubby had no clue who God was before I met him.I tried talking to him about God but he was not listening.I let it be.Continued to pray for him.I went to church alone. When I got back home,he would comment on my smile.I would tell him its all God.Sometimes we would have major problems with families and stuff.I faced it with a smile and he would ask how it is that I do not stress out.

Simple I told him.I just leave it to God and then look for His signs and signals. He started wanting to know more about this God.Today,he is the one who wakes me up on sunday morning so we can go to church.

If he does not have a problem with you because you are a believer, then be fair.Treat him like he has treated you. Smiler

As for me its not bad to associate yourself with non believers (to some extent) as the bible say Love covers a multitude of sin. But Maria be careful dont compromise and fight a good fight keep the faith.
Maria remember a parable of old and new wine
This is quite a sensative topic that can come to no end.

Yeah,good question.

But the "non-believer" in question is no believer at all. In any of those Gods. Say,he believes in science only.

I am responding here on the assumption that you worship the white God.

Now assuming that your God has ALL or most of the attributes that different cultures associate with god, ie Loving, Caring, Forgiving etc...

Then you will follow your heart and love your man. A loving God would want you to show His love through your actions

Unless of course, you worship a God of Masochistic-Denial, Hatred, a God of Damnation, Pettiness, Discrimination and Hatred, in which you are going to drop that man like a brick.

For the record, am a recovered Catholic and now I live the life of worship of Ngai wa Kirinyaga, God of the Kikuyus.

Ngai wakwa ni Ngai Wa Kirinyaga.
