Maria,
Don't you worry, one day you will find yourself awe-struck in love (you know that heart with an arrow going thru, yes that one!) But I guess you can celebrate Valentine with a loved one like mum, dad, bro, sis... not necessarily with... somebody.

Sajini,
Do you celebrate?

...As for me, I do but I remember one that I was in the village and I had to depend on nature to come to my rescue. I plucked a flower from the bushes, went and whispered at the girl's gate, she came out and she was speechless! She started drawing the maps of Kenya, Uganda, Tz, Africa, Japan.... on the ground using her toes.... who's hearing/feeling me here?

Ngunjiri, Maria,
I have never celebrated it. I think it is wrong to do so

I always do, but mine is done everyday. To me, Valentine is a daily affair but the actual one is just the icing on the cake.

Hey Guys,if i were to celebrate valentine,i would go for the "coolest" idea i have been thinking of:exchanging real{natural} rose stems with ma better half n we plant them n as we watch them grow it will be a sign of how our love is also growing.kana tiguo

Courier,
you got that big a heart? you can love that much!!!??? i mean, you actually are that romantic? (not that i think you're not) but... i never knew men had feelings too.

Papa Daad,
that is so sweet, planting trees..so, do your children think that they will grow as tall as the trees? you know kids..

Well Maria,
Eternal pessimist, eternal cynist, eternal sceptic, call me anything, and I will accept. It is who I am, and I cannot change it. It is just hard for me to trust anyone, apart from my mom of course!

Interesting though, fate will never leave us alone. I now have a red rose in my office, I do not want to offend the person who gave it to me, but it is making ne nervous. Hopefully, nobody will come into my office in teh next three hours

I actually did celebrate albeit quitely not with the pomp that was evident in the streets of Nairobi. One thing I must say the flower thing is a creation of television, our socialisation did not make us appreciate flowers like the Odieros do.We only know flowers for two occassions, weddings and funerals. So in short i didnt buy Her a rose.

Wangu,
Oh am so sorry if that incident haunts you todate to the extent you resent flowers that much. I must admit too that I really do not care about the flowers bit (neither does my spice-lucky me) for that's not how we were brought up. Pomp and color - nooo!
Cheer up my guy! We have only one life to live, no rehearsals, this is the real thing ma boy! (nguhope ndunakiinikiriria ruhia muno hwa-ini gathee)

Maria,
Have you done something and you look at it (or back) and say to yourself, "that's a job well done"? That's me and my teenage life. I cannot say, given another chance, I would do it this other way... you get the drift?
