Word has it that the military will be used to quel clashes in Mt.Elgon. I think the move is long overdue.This so called SLDF should not be allowed to go killing people and burning houses.I was talking to a friend who happens to come from that area. He told me that he has several cousins in the force(young boys between the ages of 16 and 25)and that this force has a membership of close to 5000 militia in the mt.Elgon forest.These boys have lost hope in life and have now taken it upon their hands to terrorize fellow tribesmen who fail to pay the 'protection fee'. they seem to be quite well organized and have enough war equipments to pass as a military unit. they have killed more than 500 people according to the Standard newspaper. i think the military should flash these guys out and have them prosecuted(are our jails large enough to acommondate 5000+ guys?) and restore hope and life in Mt.Elgon area. whats ur take on this one?
