Dear all, I have discovered the topic hosting this very crucial information is a bit dicreet and thought of bringing it up here. It will be easy to communicate and locate it. Recap: the discussion had reached the point of suggestion of the venue and the following were suggested: Reminesce (wilson airport) Pizza Garden in westlands Jambo ( Thika Road) Sportsview(kasarani) Buffet Park Upper Hill Springs Visa Place Les Vans Carnivore
A suggestion to have a camera was floated-I will bring one. The steering committee could meet on 27th and fix a date for the grand merry making meeting. Maria says she can only be available after Feb 10...
Sounds good to me. We will have to meet ar the steering committee probably on 27 jan to fine-tune. I suggest we meet at Le Vans since it's wide an we can sit in a quiet part and talk.

Okoko Soldier, KARIBU KIKUYU.COM NYUMBA! Hello and Welcome.
Thank you for the information. Yes we do have a right to know our rights. Now, we are discussing how we can make this "kikuyu.com meeting" day a success. You are very welcome to join. Then, maybe you can educate us more on our rights.
THE MORE THE MERRIER!
By the way, Ngunjiri, I have a question; are we paying like some kind of fee. Who is housing? Or will it be like we go and everybody pays for their own plate and not the "general happiness" kind of thing.

Just checked my diary and discovered am accompanying a young man to a uthoni on Feb 17! He is going to do what we call "kumenya mucii" or "kuhanda ithigi" Am playing a major role in that ceremony so I can't miss it. I suggest a week later, i.e. 24th Feb. Maria, Normally what happens is that pple pay for themselves but since this will be a nyama choma session, a common bill is given and pple share the cost. These are some of the details that the steering committee ought to work out.

Hi Ngii Ndune, cousin!! I am good. Thank you. Too bad you might not make it to the "get together". Well, Bunyoro is the oldest kingdom in East Africa http://www.bunyoro-kitara.com/ -check it out and I guess all other kingdoms were formed as people started moving away from that area due to congestion and other reasons. Tooro www.torokingdom.org is just like Bunyoro, we're neighbours. So, we are like your great great great great...grand cousins. That explains why we're not so different. But I think you guys migrated from Rwanda after the Rwandese migrated from congo. What more is there to tell?
we will talk more about this at the get-together,if all goes well for me. You guys are like family to me,thank you for being nice.
Ngii Ndune, are you a guy or girl? I dont know Kikuyu names well yet.
well,Maria the name is a front not my real name just means red==ndune ngii==fly so it is then red fly i do not know how i came up with it or what it represents to me but that is it.Well i hope that i could but it will be all good, enjoy our courtesy and i hope the kenyans don't make you pay for anything there that is our courtesy we make our visitors eat and drink on our bills back there!!!

Red fly, you didnt say whether you were a guy or girl. Which reminds me..i dont know colours in kikuyu. At least I know,Ndune=red! In my language, red = kasaii, kasayi (blood=musaii, musayi). Is the word Ndune related to what you call blood?
yeeahh.. i was worried about having to take care of the bill So,Ngunjiri,i hope you have taken note of this. Can i take advantage of this your courtesy and ask for whatever i want?
Sorry i was at your website here looks like Toro and Banyoro are really the same people i know we learnt abt them in our history lessons.you are right we are what they call the eastern Bantus i guess and you must be the western bantus so the luhya, suba might be the closest cousins to ugandan bantus.i noted the use of vowels for names in your group which not common in eastern bantus.
