I AM NOT 100% SURE BUT YOU WOULD EXPECT IT TO BE. BUT THAT IS BEYOND THE POINT TODAY WE'RE IN DIRE CIRCUMSTANCES BUT THE DISPLACED KENYANS SHOULD NOT GO BACK, WITHOUT A DEFENSIVE PLAN IN MIND WE HAVE A RIGHT TO OWN AND QUIEITLY ENJOY PROPERTY ANYWHERE IN KENYA, NOTWITHSTANDING WHO WE VOTE FOR!!LET THEM THINK BEYOND JUST THIS SITUATION AND COME UP WITH A ELEGANT DEFENSIVE PLAN FOR EVERY MAN DESERVES THE RIGHT OF DEFENSE WHEN WRONGLY ATTACKED

Once again our good old human rights activists blaming the govt for inaction and when they act they complain about heavy handedness! Now you wonder why Maina Kiai is so unpopular among IDPs? Well they have a MOD that keeps perpetuating their funds;either way they have sensational headlines and catch phrases and their western financiers are always pleased to donate some more!

Rights body fault police over Mungiki killings
However, officers are taking the blame for failing to stop Mungiki and the vigilante gangs. While police are in agreement that vigilante gangs have been committing murder, no one has been arrested.
"We are not happy, but it seems to be working for us. If we kill any of the Mungiki people, we are accused of committing extra-judicial executions. So, yes, it is working," a senior police officer said.

Sad but true!

Mungiki phenomenon is both a criminal and social problem we can't use only one method (read punitive) to solve the problem. We must use punitive legal measures to the violent Mungiki members (who have actually committed crimes) but we must remember that some of these guys are young folks who have been indoctrinated. The current situation of hopelessness is being taken advantage by greedy, inhuman individuals who are no better than the Komerera! We must create a situation where the majority of youth have hope, self pride and ownership in our economy.

Provision of jobs and technical training must be emphasized; this is what the youth development fund should have been used wisely but then it must have been taken over by the sons of the political elites completely cutting off the rural youth. Social amenities and facilities should not just be found in urban areas where youth can engage in sports and arts; these do offer an avenue of physical and emotional release for the youth. We need to integrate social and infrastructural development in our societies. Building highways and vast dams must go hand in hand with social programs.

The need for diversification and decentralization of industry both in location and type is important. For instance harnessing of fish in Lake Turkana should be met with a food processing industry nearby or a storage facility nearby at least providing some secondary form of employment, a meat processing plant should be in place in north eastern province for all the cattle we got there! The establishment of these industries in far flung areas will be great in nation building and patriotism(communities feeling as belonging to Kenya)just as an example KPLC would feel duty bound to provide an unfailing source of power to these industries aforementioned above thus sneaking in the possibility of rural electrification for neighboring communities.

Finally, we must be honest to ourselves. This phenomenon emanated from Land issues in the RV. We must face the issues on the ground and apply fairness while being guided by righteous principles; thus we must tackle agenda four soon to insure that these cyclic and recurrent tribal feigned as land clashes do not recur anymore!
