I believe Thaano refers to the month of Gathano (June) while themithu refers to the month of themithu,(February)
Since this proverb refer to Kikuyu calendar, my guess is that it means whatever happend in one season is not the same thing that happens in another. Things change.

Thanx Sajini...the whole sentence is now making sense with the revelation of the kikuyu calender. You obviously know alot of deeper kikuyu which is very admirable. Keep it up. Good weekend!!
