That was a while ago, when I was in Jamuhuri, around nine years ago, I am not in a position to retrieve that info now.

I would also want to hear this cos to me too she has been one of the people in the world who have touched millions and millions of hearts in a positive way. She was in SA the other day to inaugurate a girl's school in the slum there.
What I have always wondered (Wambui you may shed some light here) is that is it true that she threw a certain shoe designer out of her program when he claimed that if he knew blacks would buy his products he wouldn't have made them nicely or stuff like that? There was an email that was making rounds sometime back to this effect.

wa Wakuru,
I never heard of that, but if it's true it would be the best thing to do. We black people are fighting a battle that we will only win if we become more agressive in the fight against racism. But first we must embrace ourselves. I wouldn't be surprised if Oprah did such a thing.

Yes, Wakanyugi you are right. Now I remember the issue. It was true, and for sure many black people even in the US were outraged. I stopped short of burning my hilfiger regalia.

I have just received my copy. I expected to find characters with familiar names such as Obonyo, Kamau, Rhoda, Hamisi or Mueni, but the characters' names are Anglo. It is also interesting that the setting is not in Africa, but US. Mr Mbaya may be breaking new grounds. I will have my final views after reading the book.

Wa Teresia....nie uria igikwira ni atia weikare wi very positive!!! Gukinya hau ukinyite it shows that there's something special about and your book that which has made you come this far.
To succeed you must have tremendous perseverance, tremendous will. "I will drink the ocean", says the persevering soul, "At my will, mountains will crumble up". Have that sort of energy, that sort of will, work hard and you will reach the goal."

Kana atia?

I love your respose Wakanyugi!!It doesn't make sense to me when pple say that americans are better of than africans. It's the exact opposite. All we need to do is prove them wrong!!Actually I have met many who have openly admitted that we are by far better!Look at the kind of educ we have.Ask an American kid a simple arithmetic and they will go looking for a calculator.I dont mean to offend anyone(or maybe my argument is shallow)but thats the TRUTH.I have taught and tutored for a couple of months so I know.
Wa Teresia,Go for it.You will be suprised at how pple will buy the bk.I swear!
