Earlier in this thread, I wrote that homosexuality, bestiality and paedophilia are not related at all. Introduction of paedophilia and bestiality are just diversionary tactics to justify our phobia. Sexuality should only be based on two conditions 1) consent and 2) truthfulness/faithfulness. In consent, this excludes bestiality since animals can not consent. It also excludes paedophilia because children and minors cannot consent. In truthfulness/faithfulness, consenting parties, whether heterosexuals or homosexuals should not lie to their partners about previous relationships, or heath situations e.g., communicable diseases. The issue of morality is also not a justifiable reason to wish away the homosexuals because it is not universal. Whiel it is moral for an African woman to breastfeed in public, it is immoral for an American woman to do the same. Emotions are the greatest enemy of rational arguments |

Sajini you are spot on... precisely these values are not universal, why then are they forced on us (Africa)
If west thinks homosexuality is right let them do it, if Africa knows it is wrong let us by all means forbid it without Obama & co interfering. Iam only slightly uncomfortable with the Mzungu gays, but as a thinking African I cannot sit inoperative when they export their moral decadence to us. It is not immoral for any lady to breast feed in public nay even walk around bare breasted (like our Turkana ladies ) it is the West that says so. I believe in Evolution and it is quite exciting.Life having started from very simple cells to such a complex human Beings who tend to discriminate others based on their Sex, sexual preference, race etc.Evolution happens every day but it might be too unnoticeable.Like it or not Being gay or Lesbian is very natural.There is nothing like a learned behavior.The fact that a big population of Homo sapien is straight means nothing.The future will prove it right.

Here in Uganda polygamy is widely practiced and accepted. The Ssebos here really know how to marry women. I have met a fellow who has not two or three but a record five wives. It has its down side, see you have to be making a good packet to take care ofsuch a large family.
Many women are married and left to fend for themselves, the culture is strong such that it binds the wives to somewhat irresponsible and often absentee hubbys. It is not encouraging though i find it better than mistresses that are often shared unknowingly of course Maisha ni ujaliwavyo si utakavyo |

I think the ratio is a fair reflection of reality. My observation is that life expectancy for a kenyan male is considerably lower than that of a female. Men are dieing younger from alcohol , crime and lifestyle diseases. A Malawi gay couple was sentenced to 14 years in jail on Thursday after being found guilty of sodomy and indecency earlier this week in a trial viewed as a test case for gay rights in the country. The couple, Steven Monjeza, 26, and 20-year-old Tiwonge Chimbalanga, were arrested after they got engaged in a traditional ceremony in late December. "I sentence these two ... to a maximum sentence because I want us to stop Malawian sons and daughters from copying the same sex marriages which are un-Malawian and not in our culture and religious beliefs," Chief Resident Magistrate Nyakwawa Uisiwausiwa said. "This is the first case of its kind in Malawi ... this is the worst case of its kind," he added. Dozens of people packed the court to hear the sentencing. Police closed roads around the building and a nearby bank was closed as more than a thousand people descended on the court. Tiwonge was calm as the judge pronounced the sentence, which includes hard labour, but Monjeza was visibly shaking at the prospect of going to jail. Police whisked the two away in armed vehicles shortly after the sentencing. Rights group Amnesty International on Tuesday called for the immediate and unconditional release of the couple, saying their human rights have been flagrantly violated. Homosexuality in Africa has become a contentious issue in recent months after a Ugandan lawmaker proposed a bill including the death penalty for some acts, the arrest of the Malawian couple, and a police raid on a gay wedding in Kenya earlier this year.
