Going by the statistics of 'men' who are being clobbered by women my views on polygamy have altered quite abit. Can anyone imagine being married to two or more husband abusers?

Daily beatings eeh?

Hapo umenena. The way things are going the 'till death do us part' should be replaced with 'till the first battery'.

Daily Monitor UGAnti-gay law tabled
Sheila Naturinda

Parliament

A new law on homosexuality currently on the table of Parliament, could see some people jailed for life, Daily Monitor has learnt.

Moved by Ndorwa East MP David Bahati, and seconded by Obua Benson Ogwal [Moroto], the Bill seeks to prohibit any form of sexual relations between same sex people, and also to strengthen the nation’s capacity to deal with emerging internal and external threats to a heterosexual family.

Some of the salient features in the Bill include having an extra territorial jurisdiction for “a person who, while being a citizen of or permanently residing in Uganda, commits the offence under the law.”

Aiding and abetting homosexuality, conspiracy to engage in the act, procuring homosexuality by threats and detention with intent to commit homosexuality is an offence under the law.

“A person who keeps a house, or a place of any kind for purposes of homosexuality commits an offence and is liable on conviction to imprisonment for seven years,” states the Bill.

A move in the right direction, Let obama protect gays in America, In Africa we are straight!

This is big debate here in the state.I wonder how many people practising the 'vice' will change because of the new law.We have the law in Kenya but you would be amazed by the statistics. While in Kenya last Month, i saw it publicly at Nairobi clubs eg. Simmers along Koinange.Westland is just unbelievable.I didnt believe that we have it untill a Friend of mine testified that he wasnt straight since 14years.
Why should we have the laws just in the writting? If the law is not enforced, its as good as not having it.

The family of Daniel Chege — whose gay marriage to Charles Ngengi last weekend in London set off a storm of controversy across Kenya — is facing a backlash from homophobic neighbours.
The harassment has taken a toll on Chege’s family in Gathiru village, Murang’a, said Ms Mary Muthoni, a neighbour.

“This thing has really affected the old parents. The mother no longer wants visitors in her homestead, and the old man is no longer the same,” said Ms Muthoni, 50.

Mr Gichia Gikonyo, Chege’s father, has all but lost his ability to speak ever since the pictures from the union emerged Sunday, she said.

And Wamaitha Gichia, Chege’s mother, has developed a fear for strangers and no longer welcomes them to the family home, Ms Muthoni said.

Constant harassment

Chege’s two brothers, Humphrey Gichia and Mwangi Gichia, said they had endured constant harassment.

Last weekend’s wedding, villagers said, was not surprising because it was a gay union. It was a shock, they said, because it was Chege’s second such relationship.

The earlier relationship was the subject of a string of insults yelled across the fence by a drunk neighbour, witnesses said. The family went to police after this incidence of harassment, they said.

The drunk man said the family’s wealth is paid for by homosexuality, the witnesses said. Even the family house – a simple three-bedroom home Chege, 39, built for his parents – and a plot were said to be “dowry” payments.

“We always knew he was married to a white man. But we did not know about this other second husband,” explained Ms Lucy Wanjiru, 43.
Chege’s sexual orientation has been the subject of whispers in the village since he moved to Nairobi, villagers said.

Leaving home with only Sh5, Chege moved to Nairobi in 1989 in search of employment. With the help of a relative, he first secured a job at a fruit kiosk in the city centre.

In a newspaper interview in 2000, he said he had always been attracted to men and it was while in the city that he was able to find his way into Nairobi’s gay community.

He left the country in 1994, first flying to Spain before moving to London where he met David Cleaves, his earlier partner. The couple visited Kenya on holiday several times and spent some time at Chege’s home in Murang’a.

The people who spoke to Nation said they knew Chege was gay and that he was living with a white man in London. The man, they said, built a house for the family, and helped them buy a farm.
Looks like it is true, the family actually ate dowry, question is why the shock whe the boy marries a Kikuyu and not the MzunguThe parents should stop the hyprocrisy and own up to the fact their some peddles ass and they are beneficiaries. otherwise they should have disowned and banished him on his first marriage. this is a classic case of greed over crowding good judgement. I suppose the oldman would have been gratefull to receive dowry on the quiet. Shame on him too. the drunkard was just telling the fact not harrasing

Bwana Muhuthia,
I bet you would be amazed by their numbers.
Recently i learned that in Evolution, only the strong genes are required in moving to the next level, there is just no space for weak genes in an ecosystem. To my surprise even death is a way to prevent weak genes in the system.Might also mean that the gays posses weak genes not needed in our path.

Interesting conversation you got going here. The other day I was fumbling with my remote aimlessly flipping through the channels when I landed on Jerry Springer show (don’t ask). There was this religious sounding lady and I say religious because she was holding a bible. For those who don’t know, Jerry Springer is a show that features two rivals fighting it out for the same lover on TV, so when I saw someone holding a bible I got kind of curious. Anyway, the Lady was there to claim her man that had left her for another man. So there she was waving the bible and screaming at her ex-lover saying “God created human beings to be more intelligent than animals, you don’t see two male dogs making out, you are supposed to be smarter than a dog you SOB bla.. bla.. bla..” Dude, you should have seen how hard Jerry was trying to suppress a laughter. No offence, but I found it hilarious and LMAO.

Quote Daily Monitor Thursday December 3 Kampala

Start quote

Sweeden has joined a growing list of cpountries heaping pressure on Uganda to discard the proposed law that would severly punish homosexuals according to Gunilla Carlsson "my number two has direct contact with the Ugandan goverment has brought it up. We have talked about it in Uganda and i have also tried to speak to the kind of organisations that are the target of the legislation" I am doubly disappointed partly because Uganda is a country with which we have had long term relations and where I thought and hoped we hard started to share COMMON VALUES AND UNDERSTANDING (capitals mine)

"the law is wretched , but it's also offensive to see hoe Ugadans choose to look at how we see things and the kind of reception we get when we bring up these issues"

In cananda PM Stephen Harper called the law vile and hatefull, Gordon brown raised the issue with President Museveni

End of qoute (typing mine)

I say POVERTY IN DIGNITY

Uganda integrity minister replies

"Homosexuality is not going to be promoted or supported whoever wants to withdraw their aid are free to do so as Ugandans do not want to engage in anal sex"

Well done, the Swedish should encourage homosexuality in europe not Africa

"The church is a safe place for individuals who are confused about their sexuality or struggling with sexual brokeness"

To me the whole thing is misdirected energy. Leave the homosexuals alone. Let us focus on more meaningful fights.
