I have lately been following news about Rev Wanjiru's with a lot of interest. The words she said to her former husband are certainly out of taste, not only for a televangelist, but any other people as well. Sadly, when she offerd her former husband a rope to hang himself with, and even offerd to conduct the funeral ceremony, her followers laughed and praised the Lord! With all respect to the Christians, Is this not the height of religious sacophancy?
If she gets the Starehe seat, what will she tell her constituents when they demand that she fulfill the part of her contract? Ropes to hang themselves with and funeral services?
At first, it was Mary Akatsa, then Deya, Githii, and now Wanjiru is fast catching up. Who next, Lai, Muiru...? and who is this guy asking for the removal of certain artefacts from the national Museum of Kenya?

Sajini, well said. i could go to school, study hard and become an economist but when it comes to application of the concepts, i would not rate any fairer than a class six drop out. This Reverend is a Dr.????? She teaches about, honesty and forgiveness but when it comes to applying those concepts in real life she scores an amazingly 'F'. Well she could have been hurt by the man leaving her at her hour of need but that only presents her with real life situations to test her teachings. Did you see how her followers(her congregation) shouted in joy and 'praised the Lord' when she said that poor Kamangu-he whose hands are jigger infested should buy a rope and hang himself!!! too much of Wanjiru now Sajini you left out one of them, Bishop Nduta who claimed to heal HIV -AIDS for a reasonable fee? i have listened to them preach and it amazes me how they can brainwash their keen followers. All(most) of these Reverends of the so called 'kanitha ka murugarugo' are bought top of the range vehicles as surprise birthday presents by their followers. i have no problenm with that, i am just highlighting. They buy beach front plots and erect some makeshift structures in the name of childrens homes and they do good coz they do educate these poor kids....at a fee. and the plots are registered in whose names? well you know who. Anyway, as long as its willing giver willing Receiver who are we to 'shout'?

Hi, Am a strong believer in the freedom of worship, but i think,in exercise of this freedom, we tend to push the boundaries too far.I think regulation of some of these societies under which the churches fall is in order.Exploitation of innocent but ignorant worshippers is not only unethical and ungodly but also criminal. But i also blame the worshippers who struggle so much to make the lives of these televangelist comfortable,at their own expense.
I have great reservation and doubt whether the "God" they worship is indeed the God we know.If indeed "He" is the one, then we are all damned. However, i dont blame them though, for prophecy about the false prophets must come to pass.
All i can assure Wanjiru and her "cheering robots" is that she will be lucky to garner more than 100 votes in Starehe.A noose would be a good election symbol for her. But again i have been wrong in the past.

That issue on Wanjiru is news to me. Can someone please give me a link where i can access it.
I used to attend JIAM -Wanjiru's church and i loved her preachings then....seems like the more affluent these people become the more wayward they become...talk about being of the world Quite an interesting topic for a thesis...dont you think guys!

andu a nyuumba muriega? its a hard fact to swallow, lakini women especially those who think they have passed the dungeons of poverty, can place a very big disclaimer on their past escapades with men even if they were husband n wife. To wanjiru the thought that Kamangu was once her lover/husband is unbearable knowing only too well the great things that await her from her SA boyfriend. But its so pathetic that we human beings are so easy to forget our humble begginings from whence we came from.To add insult to injury,a woman of the cloth? I guess this days the church teaches that the kingdom of heaven is for the haves and not the have nots'.What with a bishop encouraging the have nots to hang themselves coz the Lord doesnt like to see poor people amongst his flock? THE END TYMES ARE NEIGH.

The following words that she also uttered AT THE PULPIT are not in the article above (source: Kenya Times): "“In 1978, I was in Form Three and still a virgin. I was nobody’s wife. I don’t know the hell who this man claiming to have married me in the name of Kamangu"
Now you know what I know. That arrogance stinks poooh!
Ngunjiri, did she actually curse in Church??? perhaps its not even about sharing the bed or siring children together. its about her "yet another" confession that she did not know if the father of her children was alive or dead..... yet she knows where kamangu is at the very moment she uttered those words.
and not surprisingly, kamangu, just like you and me was hurt by this confession, as it is beyond resoanable doubt that wanjiru knew where kamangu was that was why when she took kamangu's sons to visit their father, she wan't going to find out where his grave was....
and when she forgot about her clothe..... she minced no words in declaring kamangu as a jinger infested drunkard!!!!! if she did not know kamangu, how did she know his "profile"?
and as kamangu says, he is not opposed to her intention to marry 9and god knows if she has been pure since kamangu days), but the poor man was hurt, just like you and i would have been, when wanjiru said she could not remember who the father(s) were of her two sons and daughter... even to the extent of making it sound like she was raped and could never identify the rapist! the glory of the lord is FAR AWAY!
papa daad i am reading your post the fifth time now. it feels like i am in church listening to a well rehearsed sermon. and how can i thank God for you? you are such a blessing to us on this site.
i am taking every word very seriously, and even thinking, are we even perfect to cast stones on wanjiru. but i guess some of us here like me did not have the biblical insight on this and were only looking at the poor kamangu beeing declaired in terms close to "a missing person".
Andu a nyumba i think its high time for us now to remember our so called preachers in our prayers so that God can give them enough knowledge not to confuse the true followers of GOD

All of you have excellent points. I think the decision on what or where to go and who to follow lies solely under our feet. The same Bible talks about the coming of false prophets and of wolves in sheep's skins: Matthew 7:15"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
