The District 98 of the House of Representatives is represented by State Representative Vicki Truitt. Vicki has carried legislation for former Governor George W. Bush, and has personally passed legislation that is saving Texas taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars in unnecessary interest payments on school bonds, among many other meaningful pieces of legislation. She credits her strong grass root support for her remarkable win in the 1998 Republican Primary Elections with more than 61% of the vote in a race where the opponent, a three-term incumbent, outspent her four to one.

After the elections, she has earned a leadership role in the Texas House of Representatives. She is the Chairman of Budget and Oversight for the House Committee on Public Health, and sits on the powerful Appropriations Committee. She is the Vice-Chairman and one of only five House members serving on the influential Sunset Advisory Commission. Outside the Texas legislature, Vicki is involved in numerous community services. Vicki was the driving force in establishing an emergency pharmacy fund, and secured private funding to provide medicine for needy patients of a northeast Tarrant County community health clinic. As a community leader, she is a member of the Northeast Leadership Forum, and, among others, has served on the boards and executive committees of Metroport Meals On Wheels and the Arts Council of Northeast Tarrant County.

The representative is endorsed by a number of organizations which include Combined Law Enforcement, Associations of Texas, Department of Public Safety, Officers Association, among others. Some of the individual endorsers of the representative include Neal & Sonja Adams, Larry & Paula Marshall, Joel Allison, Darcy & Kay Anderson, Teresa E. & David Disiere among scores of others.
