I watched in disbelief and horror the ODM presidential aspirant, Raila Odinga, tell a rally in Mandera that ODM government would reopen the Kenya-Somali Border i n order to facilitate free trade between the two countries. You and i know the reason why Kenya is soooo insecure is due to proliferation of small arms whose source is Somalia. So if your expectation is better security in the years to come, would you vote for this guy?
2. In a span of 3 days, Mr Raila has issued contradictory statements about his Mou with the muslims faithfuls. At one time he concede , at another he denies, then agree again blah, blah, blah. If you are looking for a flip flopper, then ODM is the place to be and Raila is your Man!
3. ODM in general have been rather shy to talk about the cost implication of implementing their so called majimbo aka ugatuzi. Research has shown that to support such a system, Kenyans would have to be taxed at least three times more. The attendant bureaucracy would increase the cost of doing business tenfold. Where does that leave you as a kenyan?
Trouble is, PNU strategists are unable to exploit these gaffles by ODM which are increasing by the day!

Because all the PNU brigade is made up of tired old men who have no creative ideas about how to take advantage of a golden opportunity. Much as I do not support Raila, I do feel that they deserve to lose, because they do not seem to want to win.
Personally, I have given up on the old generation. It is time they are all shown the door in order to inject new blood into the system. If steadman polls are true, and that the youth comprise about 60% of teh voters, these guys can be weeded out in order to usher in a new political dispensation.

If Kenyans vote him in,then maybe they deserve what's coming to them. And it Ain't gonna be pretty.I know Kibaki has been a major letdown but this is going too far. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Moderator1,

Kibaki has been ignoring everything from MoUs to Artur bros, to Anglo Leasing... He even forgot his promise to be a one-term president. Paka Mwitu, did you `watch in disbelief' as Kibaki announced that he plans to run for re-election? I did.

NO.You and i were not privy to that MOU. And why do you think he signed that MOU (if at all) he did on your/our behalf? He had no authority to do so.You cannot talk of an agreement if both parties had no capacity. Such a contract is void ab initio.
Furthermore, the last time i checked, Kibaki meets all constitutional requirement to vie for another term.

Paka Mwitu, Stick to the the issue of discussion which is: `of MoUs and inconsistent leaders'.
Kibaki meeting constitutional requirements to run for another term is not in dispute whatsoever. I personally don't dispute it.
I'll start with inconsistent leaders: Kibaki is number one in this. HE SAID, he will run for one term only. Do you want me to get you teh clip from all three newspapers from 2002? Now he's running for reelection. What do you call this? I call it `inconsistency'.
KIBAKI said there'll be no sacred cows in his admin. There are. Do you want supporting evidence? M & M? Guys involved with Artur?
KIBAKI fought for IPPG. What did he do? Even though it's his constitutional right, he says one thing and does the opposite.
As for MoUs, why did he sign it if he didn't plan to honor it? He should have trashed it from the day it was placed before him!
Talk of the GRAND DADDY of ALL INCONSISTENCIES!! Kibaki is his Name.
Good questions. For me to make sense of what you are saying, kindly avail to me the following:
1. The video clip of Kibaki making the infamous/famous one term pledge. What is written in the papers cannot pass as objective absolute truth. Let hear it in Kibakis own words.
2. Show me Kibakis complicity in the artus saga. By the way, who is M&M??. I see, whoever these M&M are, their culpability or otherwise can only be determined by a court of competent jurisdiction. The action to prosecute or otherwise in matters criminal can only be initiated by Smiling WAKO. As usual he is busy smiling. You can never conclude that M&M , whoever they are were guilty. From where do you get the authority to judge the so called M&M?
3.Can you honestly and with a straight face fault Kibaki for trashing this IPPG? Why on earth would our overpaid law makers sleep on search a loophole for well over 10 years without raising a finger? Dont we have professors and law experts expecially in the so called "luminating luminaries of ODM", who should have properly covered their interests? At the risk of sounding selfish, a good tactician should exploit the weaknesses of his/her enemies.Political good manners exist in utopia. It is a mirage.
4. Jogoo, if you cared to read the famous/infamous kilifi draft that was rejected by yourself and others, surely you must have come accross a clause providing for an independent electoral commission. By you casting your vote against the draft constitution, you wittingly or otherwise empowered Kibaki to do what he did. BY YOUR ACTIONS,YOU GAVE HIM THE POWER TO HANDPICK THE COMMISSIONERS. Blame yourself for it.
5. Kindly post the signed MOU between Kibaki and others here. I searched the net and scored through the classified documents but came up with none. If those who purport to have appended their signatures curiously dont have their copies. Even more curious is the fact that the lawyers who facilitated this process appear to have misplaced theirs as well.
Hopes this helps. Good luck

I admire the way you argue. Without losing head of the issues you raised, let's get with the program. I'll try to answer them one by one and I hope they make sense.
1. As for the one-term issue, EVERYONE around Kibaki seems to remember about it, of course except Kibaki. Even Wamalwa brought it up back in 2002, Keriri confirmed the MoU, Raila and Mama Rainbow have been singing these.. but Kibaki simply can't remmember.
2. Winnie Wangui Mwai. Who is she? She supposedly helped Arturs to walk around - any charges? Michuki expelled them, is that proper? Why don't you try that in any country and see what happens. Prison then be deported. Mwiraria and Murungi are on record obstructing investigations into aglo leasing. They are back in the govt. ONLY Saitoti was cleared. Without a president COMMITTED to fight corruption, Anglo Goldenberg, Arturs will never be solved. Kibaki has power to do something, failure to do so is costing him lots and lots of votes. Remember the Ouko commission? Moi woke up one day, suspended it and almost 20 yrs later, teh commission hasn't been allowed to complete it's job. This is what we DON'T WANT.
3. Kibaki trashing IPPG just shows a trend in him - doesn't care for anything he signs as long as it's not law. as much as I and other wil be disappointed, it's his prerogative - but it will follow him on election day.
4. Laughable. Kibaki's Wako draft was JUNK. You can't tell us that we either take that junk or get nothing!!! He's a servant to Kenyan people!!! If the majority wanted the Bomas draft, why didn't Kibaki give it to them EVEN though he disgreed with it?
5. Kibaki, Raila and MoUs. it's their prerogative to prove or disapprove any rumors by producing these copies. Obviously they and their advisors feel that's not the biggest issue at heart. Beside, what difference will it make. An MoU from 2002 that wasn't honored is as good as the tissue paper you used last night and flushed down the toilet.
I'm not living the past when I bring up Kibaki's ills. I'm using the past to predict the future.
Had Kibaki recoved some, just some of Goldenberg monies, over 60% of Kenyans will be begging him to run for president. Because of his failures, everyone is pulling records from 2002 that he doesn't seem to remember. Ask any Kenyan and they'll tell you the #1 issue is corruption.
