Am sorry i can't agree a bit, whereas there is a ring of recognition of what you wrote, what you are proposing is an Oligarchy in Kenya!Representatives being elected because of the party they are alligned to is not a kenyan exclusive it happens allover the world especially when a society feels a certain party ideologies or policies represents their interests.

Ithe wa Dadi, Ithe wa ithe!?, Ngukuira uu, You can not deny voting rights to citizenry simply because you think(or state) that the electorate is uneducated politically or otherwise(which country can boast of such? I dare say none!).Who ever they choose will be their choice that is democracy.By citing kenya to be a partial oligarchy, which i do agree, strengthens my point that we should move away from appointment to democracy.this can only be achieved through empowering the electorate through education and granting them a purely representative legislature!

Come on now you know there are precedents of party democracies U.S and U.K are just two examples. We ofcourse learnt of democracy from these two and that is the way they doing it.So it happens and whereas again i get your point,I still think it is much better of a system than having a bunch of spoilt individuals appointed to parliament based on how well they are acquainted with the big boys! That is sad for kenya and we should get rid of the appointed MPs!!

MPs reject bid for 50 women’s seats Story by NATION Team Publication Date: 8/16/2007 There will be no special seats for women after Parliament failed to pass a law which would have created 50 positions for female nominated MPs and also increased the number of constituencies. Great thing I am a happy democrat for a fully democratically elected parliament!!!!!!

Rape in marriage a crime, says Ndung’u Story by MIKE MWANIKI Publication Date: 8/31/2007 An MP wants rape in marriage criminalised. And bride price should also be phased out in customary law since a majority of men viewed it as “purchase price” for women, said nominated MP Njoki Ndung’u. “Our laws should be reviewed to ensure that rape occurring within marriages is a crime which is punishable as a criminal act,” the MP said. The MP was speaking yesterday at the launch of a three-year campaign to protect women and girls against violence and HIV and Aids at Charter Hall, Nairobi. This is one reason why we should eliminate appointed MPs!

it happens! i support her. I have been a counseller long enough, its a thing women keep to themselves, it humiliates them but our cultures, you cannot speak such things out.
lets not puuza her coz she aint married, she interacts with people, before i got married, i knew so well the kind of violence occurs in homes. relatives have been molested by their spouses, right now i have had to take over my uncles children becouse of the abuses he has been giving even his own daughters, etc it hurts when you try to make fun of what Njoki is professing bearing in mind that its real!!!
Marriage is a choice, she may not need anyone, we all have different needs per time, this doesnot however keep her from being an auntie, a sister, a friend etc of violated women.

I am of the oppinion that kenya should go for a professional government if it really want to free or empower its people.
Ministers should not come from MP's and should be appointed according to their expertise regarding their ministry e.g. a minister of finance, justice or energy should be picked among the best experts in that field. they then should work according to a performance contract.
MP's, mayors, councillor and the Presidents are the only people who should be elected. A RECALL VOTE should be enabled for these people.
the MP'S job should only involves running those constitutuency funds and lobying for funds to develop their constitutuencies.
am sure my suggestions here are already a lean and funtion oriented government.
THese way kenya can do away with tribal politics and political parties. since all communities can present a president at once whereby the best wins.
or else we let the IT experts automate the government function by making e-governance a reality thereby making governments wordwide obsolete. how much can kenya sell to world an e-governance systems. I CAN WRITE ONE.

Whereas i do understand your fight i must point out that although she is legally in parliament, she represents no one! She was not elected by anyone and so i think she should not enact any laws on behalf of Kenyans. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Ngii Ndune!!,

Given the recent appointed councilors saga I reiterate that we should get rid off these appointed 'leaders'.We should really make our local authorities and parliament completely elected.
