I regret to announce the untimely death of the Party of National Unity.

PNU was born in August 2007 as a product of an unholy union between (or is it among), DP, FORD-KENYA, FORD-PEOPLE, KANU, NARC-KENYA, New Ford-Kenya, Shirikisho, Agano, Community Development Party, Ford Asili, Forepa, Kenya Republican Reformation Party, Kenya Union of National Alliance, Mazingira Green Party, National Alliance Party of Kenya, National Renewal People’s Party, New Aspirations Party of Kenya, New Generation Party, Republican Liberty Party, Saba Saba Asili, SAFINA, Sheda Party, Sisi Kwa Sisi, United People’s Congress, Vijana Progressive Alliance and Workers Congress.

PNU began its slow and painful death exactly 3 years after its formation in August 2010. This coincided with the passing of a new constitution which disallows political alliances prior to elections, culminating with its humiliating dose of irrelevance in the suburban Nairobi by-elections.

All in all, rest in peace PNU.

We will miss you. For whatever you were worth.

Sometimes, a madman will rise up during the mourning ceremony and call a spade a spade. I take that role today.

Good riddance P.N.U. May the ghosts of ineptituded haunt all your good for nothing offsprings.

Kenya will only rise the moment we stop recycling politicians.

We are so hooked on 'matigari' and 'macokio' that we cannot see beyond our noses.
We need a new brand, a new generation of leadership to take over.

After thinking through various ways to lock out old and tired leadership, I've come up with a simple and effective formular:

LET'S GET RID OF KANU.

It's time for all Kanu elements to go. It's the only way to emancipate ourselves from the forces that tie us to our dark past of tribalism, score-settling, corruption and all sorts of ills.

Among these;

1.Uhuru Kenyatta - Gladly accepted to be Moi's heir to advance Kanus grip on power.
2.Raila Odinga - Lead NDP merger with Kanu eventually becoming "new' KANU secretary general thinking he'd Moi's heir.
3.Musalia Mudavadi - Former Moi's Vice President, a spineless politician with no stand.
4.George Saitoti - Moi's VP. General Kiguoya junior.
5.Kalonzo Musyoka - Moi's blue eyed boy. Ukambani Kanu Chairman. Foreign affairs minister and Kanu Life member
6.William Ruto - Youth for Kanu 92 -need I say more?
etc etc.....

These guys have to go.

Njau,
I get your point and I totally agree. My worry is that since almost every politician before 1992 was a KANU member either by choice or through implicit coercion, the our options will be limited to someone under 45. Do we have such a person amongst the current crop of politicians?

...unless we are talking of Maina Njenga, Waruinge, Kabando, Ababu Namwamba and probably Eugene Wamalwa....
