It was never meant to be about the media, but about anything transmitted digitally (maybe the proper name would have been The Digital Bill). And if you are not aware, by 2015, all TV transmissions in Kenya will be digital.

Just what does the word 'media' mean to you Wamax?

You should not ask 'mean to you'. If you want to know the meaning, you can look it up. (It can even mean 'the spirit medium' that you use to communicate with ancestors).

However, the context its used in this insatnce is to refer to the materials used in journalism. This include the 'print media', the 'electronic media' and 'broadcast media'. It is also referred to as the 'MASS MEDIA' because it is a way of transmitting news and information to the masses. In contrast, writting an email to an individual, or sending Mpesa to your grandma can never be 'media'.

You can argue that you use a medium to do so, but when dont you ever? You use mediums to cook food (sufuria), to get children (your wife), to go to work (your car) etc.

Wamax is right, there is one contentious section the Media bill includes a whole lot and not just your narrow definition.Check it out! We're talking about section 88 hence it is wise and prudent to assume there actually exists 88 or more sections pure DEDUCTIVE LOGIC!
The frailty of our esteemed bloggers is acting out as informed when they infact display ignorance on various issues: As Wamax did say this bill is dealing with more than some of us maybe accustomed to as traditional Media;the sad and obnoxious part is that rather than listen to someone who has actually read it in its entirety, you're bent on belittling him!

Ngii Do not go ballistic, if you look again you will note Wamax defined one meaning of media and gave examples of another meaning (wife car etc)i.e means to end: (the means by which something is carried out or achieved.)vs means of communication

Hence my amusement!

Wamax is an authority on media bill that we acknowledge. Clap for him!

I was just pointing to fact that Wamax found it unamusing when some of us questioned his understanding of some vocabulary.I aint mad just trying to be a good sport here.
