“It was hard to select the party's flagbearer. We all staked our claims with reasons. The reason that won the day was made by Kibaki after he made it clear he would be president for only one five-year term....Kibaki volunteered that proposal.”
The late Michael Kijana Wamalwa explaining on Nation TV’s StateCraft how the National Party of Kenya (NAK) agreed on a single presidential candidate. Kibaki never sought to correct Wamalwa not refute the allegation.
(Daily Nation Monday, September 30, 2002)

Now, fast fwd to 2007:

President Kibaki yesterday denied ever promising anybody that he would serve only for one term. And he went on to declare, for the second time in a week, that he was in the race for the presidency for another five years.

jogoo please tell us:

- how kibaki stepping down after one term was beneficial to kenyans?

-why he should step down after a term, though the constitution allow him to run for a second term?

-why the so claimed people he promised to step down for don't just face him in the ballot box?

those ngilus and their like am sure they making this lame noise of theirs because he refused to let them plunder our country like they did to the ministries they headed.

remember ngilu nepotism, tribalism, fovouritism abetting of coruption at the health ministry? not to mention the fact that he black-mailed kibaki to employ her friends and family?

those mou should be illegal since kenya should not be governed by secret mou instead of kenyan laws.

these watu wa kula by secret mou proxy, i hope kenyans voter reject them.

please tell us where we can get a copy of those mou's.

Did Kalonzo sign an MoU with Kibaki?

You know, a day before we was announced VP, Kalonzo was seen entering Standard Chartered Bank on Koinange street with 2 guys, one carrying a briefcase.

Wonder if he was laundering the money he was given by PNU to support the govt!

Refresh. NAK was made up of the three bigwigs, Kibaki Wamalwa and Ngilu
So going by your chronology, if Kibaki made that promise to NAK around 30/09/02, then he must have made it to Wamalwa and Ngilu.
By 02/02/2007, Wamalwa was long dead and Ngilu had long given up her presidential ambition and was in political harmony with Agwambo.
Reload. The promise (if any) was to Wamalwa and/or Ngilu , no proxies. NOT even Agwambo. Dig it?

Checked that petition. Less than 85 names on the list so far with some anonymouw and repeated names.

Sorry to say this but why was it that 90% of the signatories seem to come from one ethnic group?
