These are some of the insults that I grew up with. If only I knew then what some of them mean

1. Some of them, borrowed from English were outright x-rated but apart from feeling hurt, we were too illiterate to know their true meaning
-bokobu...f up
-bakini...f in
-bakiũ....f you

2. Others were just translation gone bad
-mburarĩ buu!....bloody fool!
-nĩga............nigger!

Sounded so bad when used by old wazees on their children. I still hear some people using them.

3. Others mean nothing in particular, but they also hurt. Mostly used by school children
-komoni!.........come on!
-boko jembe!.....forked jembe!
-kwenda ĩno!..... this goer!

I will be back with some more when I remember them

And other insualt, only the domestic animals are used but rarely wild animals
Ng'ombe...........cow
Mburi.............goat
Ng'ondu...........sheep
Bunda/ndigiri.....donkey
Ngui..............dog
Nyau..............cat
Nguruwe...........pig

One of the wild animals I can think applied in insult is
nugu.............monkey

All these insults work well if accompanied by a demostrative ino 'this' which in this case mean 'you'

When I was a little girl,I loved the entertainment in the village. The secondary school boys were hilarious. We had story nights, music nights and fun nights.Fun night was my favourite. Two boys(young men) would start talking. One would be the missionary preaching and the other would be the interprator.

Preacher---My name is David Livingstone
Mutauri---Ha ritwa njitaguo Dauti Ihiga ria uuturo.
Preacher---I come from Canada where I left my wife.
Mutauri----Ndiigire mutumia mucii ari na kana nda.
Preacher----When Jesus was preaching in the synagogue
Mutauuri-----Riria Jesu ahunjagiria magogo
Preacher-----He said
Mutauri-----Akiuga
Preacher-----Do not comitt adultery.
Mutauri------Tigai gukomaga mwiyondotoretie.
Preacher-----Im on my way to Johannesburg.
Mutauri------Njerekeire kuria Muhukoini wa Johanna.
Preacher-----From there I will head on to Angola,Congo and Madagascar.
Mutauri-----Na ngwenda mumenye ati angora kongo maa ndaga thika.

How about the irumi.
Ndongomothi ino.Sounded horrible. But it is just a Document.
