Is anyone interested to translate a passage or two...it'a in Kikuyu, Kiswahili,& English in any order throughout I was able to get a portion(Kiswahili & English)done...but it still doesn'tmake sense to me yet!

Hold it right there Nyumba.Maya,I understand you trying to learn the language.Like everybody else,I will help where I can.But translating verses I do not know who they were meant for isnt for me.I do not think its Kikuyu.coms either. Why not ask the person the verse was meant for? If it was meant for you,I do not think it would be in a language you do not understand.

Nyumba,doing what she is asking you to do will be betraying your own.I mean translating.Teach her the language.

I obviously have no idea what I have been given to translate here because I still am not clear what it says and I clearly don't want to cause anyone here @ Kikuyu.com distress. Though, now I am more curious than ever of course!

Maya, We are comfortable in helping you learn Kikuyu, but as Nyina wa B said, the massage you posted seem to be a 'cut and paste' from someone's email. Our culture prohibits exposing private issues to the public unless in exceptional cases. We do not know your motive in wanting to decode someone's private message, and we do not know whether the person to whom it was intended for has given his or her consent. That is why we are nervous.

I reiterate that if you want to learn Kikuyu, you can count on me to give any assistance within my capability. I can for instance photocopy some few pages for you from a Kikuyu grammar course that I have.

As I mentioned, I am happy with that offer of help and I'll be asking about the passages when I see the person that gave them to me to translate. I am happy to have the passages you refer to in your message. As I mentioned before, I am not interested to offend or put anyone in an akward position. I am sure it will make more sense to me when I learn about the passages.

The passage you want translated is or was taken out of someones email.And why? Trust.

If you trust your man like you are supposed to,ask Him.Or whoever the email was intended for.I have been a member of Kiuk.com for a long long time.These folks are smart.Only a fool would not realise that this is a very twisted scenario of detective work.

Dot commas know what is wrong and what is right.
Keep searching though.Maybe you will find what you are looking for and realise it wasnt a big deal after all.

Maya, could what Sajini and Nyina wa B saying be true? Now I am putting pieces together and can see the whole picture. As the two have said above, and especially Nyina wa B., you are trending on a potentially explosive ground. Learn Kikuyu for the sake of knowing Kikuyu not for any ulterior motives. My offer to help you LEARN Kikuyu still remains but I back off from the TRANSLATINg part. I think I did not understand the original request you made but now it is clear. Good luck in you learning.
