Check this one, I think it's hilarious...

The Bible is the most translated book in the world. Every year there are new translations, the latest, which is yet to be published, is the sheng version.

Sample this verse from the translation:

Luke 19: 1-10

Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. Now behold, there was a man called Zaccheus who was the Chief Tax collector and was rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but he couldn't because of the crowd, for he was a short man. So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him for he was going that direction. And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up andsaw him, and said to him "Zacchaeus, make a haste and come down, for
today I must stay at your house"

Translation...

"Zaka dondoka faster faster juu leo
lazima ni maintain kwa keja yako".

Wa Karumba,

I had seen this transalation and it was hilarious. But you will be shocked if the same verse was to be translated to sheng today. It would look so different! Sheng evolves like minute by minute. You take this translation to a youngster and s/he will look at you like you are coming from Mars as this is sheng that was used some 2 or 3 years ago and that's a long long time ago in sheng world (think of the "thy", "thou" and "thee" to get the picture)

Hahahaha Ngunjiri you are right, this language changes by the day. Another chick walks into our office one aftee and tells her friend “haki nime sota”
Later, another Msee asks why that girl was bragging about the sodas she has taken only to be told that the girl was actually lamenting that she is broke hehehe.
sota - broke. what is the connection?
