i appreciate this.
you know,when i got on the bus to Nairobi, there was swahili like everywhere around me, my own neighbour didnt know any English!
lucky for me i knew a bit of French so we communicated(he is from Rwanda).
he helped me out a lot cuz i couldnt even buy myself a drink, unless the guy said,"50 bob" or "1,500".. Then, we got to Nairobi and it gets worse...

Well it is almost similar thing I experienced in Kampala. People speak English or Luganda. I came across some people who did not speak English, but then I could not speak Luganda. Anyway, do not hesitate to ask anything. But say, why don't you like Swahili?
