Sajini,
why doesnt what you have just said make me feel better?
I bet a lot of people think like him. And besides, from those figures you were guessing,it makes a lot of sense that they turn out to be that-look at the sizes of those countries! Uganda could be the size of some district in Tz.

But,on the streets of kampala, the only people you will hear speaking Swahili are kenyans or tanzanians or other people. Ugandans..no. we used to have news in swahili back in the day..on UTV(now UBCTV)..i doubt its still televised. oh well,i guess we are not swahili people after allFrowner
but i still cant help feeling "left out".

Maria,
I had hear of Musevenis plans to have Swahili taught in schools, and also to make it one of the national languages. Did I not hear this right?

Maria,
Calm down my sister. Having calmed down, I totally support you that the omission was an unfortunate oversight. Have you tried to contact the webmaster? They have a link to their email that you could use.
Despite that, it is a very interesting site, a site to behold.

Sajini,
you did hear right. Museveni wanted swahili taught and also the national language. I dont know whaat happened. Maybe the government lacks the teachers. Private schools on the other hand have swahili taught.
Frowner'tis sad but maybe one day Uganda will fit in.

Ngunjiri,
i could write to them and they change but now i see that that wouldnt change the fact that we are not part of you guys.
I agree its is very good. And i want to learn swahili too so,i'll use it.

Maria,
The way I understadn it, ther are historical reasons why Ugandans have not been enthusiatic about Swahili. The worst they can do is to force it down people's guts. I think only a popular medium can make Swahili attractive to Ugandans.

I accept your congratulatory messages with a lot of appreciation and humility. This is a classical example of "I am because you are". Thanks all!

Kariuki,
Twazipokea hongera zako kwa moyo mkunjufu. Fanya hima ujiunge nasi.
